Moments in our life – the next generation
YUTO
One of our favorite students, Yuto, is now in 6th grade. He happens to be the son of our new sister Keiko, but before she was studying the Bible, I had my eyes on Yuto as our first elder of the church here.
Then last week, coming home from the dentist and despairing of all, I was thrilled to hear Sandy tell about Keiko’s conversation with Yuto. Something Sandy had told Keiko recently had also made sense to Keiko and Yuto in his situation at school. So, Yuto said, MAYBE I SHOULD BELIEVE IN GOD, TOO!!! Of course, Keiko encouraged him to do so. So the seed has been planted. PLEASE PRAY for this smart, charming, 6th grader and his two elder brothers and dad.
Tenfu
The 10th grade son of Tomomi, has never been a LOGOS student, but has studied the LST Luke book with various summer workers and others. Now he is competing for a Rotary homestay which could put him in America or Canada for a year. Please pray that he will be accepted and BE PLACED WITH A STRONG CHRISTIAN FAMILY!!! and for his two brothers and dad.
THE BUILDING Sunday night draft
SHOCKED TO POINT OF DIZZINESS when a Bible student told us that she and her husband had been shown the New LOGOS parking lot as a possible site for building a new home. The landlady does own the parking lot BUT it is clearly written in our contract that we are renting the space for parking. The new expensive LOGOS awning faces this lot and would be covered up by a new house on the property. We have not been able to contact the owner yet but we are struggling to feel love and and generosity toward her. Of course the convenience of access and parking space figured in our assessment of the value of the building, so….
MONDAY MORNING UPDATE!!! Note from son of landlady:
“I’m sorry for being late to reply you. My mom don’t want to sell the parking now, so don’t worry. we wanna talk about the future of the house. Do you have some free time in this month?” SO PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR THE BUILDING SITUATION
WE ARE THANKFUL that Jeanette’s husband, Brad is now on-site and ready and willing to help with work on the building.
PRAY FOR BRENT’S COUSIN, BRAD
29 year old son of my cousin, Brad McReynolds suffered an aortic aneurysm, as sometimes happens with Marfan’s Syndrome, about a week ago and has had a hard time with his recovery. He is now off the vent, but his kidneys are not yet working. He is in a hospital in San Diego.
Kunisues in Kobe
Yumiko and Akinobu Kunisue, baptized one year ago, recently bought a house in another part of Kobe and moved. In a recent visit to Kojima, Akinobu promised me, and I him, that we would make it a priority to
SEARCH FOR A CHURCH WHERE THEY CAN PLUG IN and search until we find one.
CPI next week
We planned this year’s LOGOS calendar to give us time off next week to attend the CHURCH PLANTING INSTITUTE, probably Japan’s largest gathering of Christian workers. Please pray for us and THE PRESENTERS now and next Wednesday through Friday. After the workshop, we will take a mini-vacation in the Tokyo area.
CHRISTMAS CHILD PROJECT
We are on track to send 60 boxes to Samaritan’s Purse for children in the the Phillipines. On Friday we will have a PACKING PARTY. It is wonderful to see people who do not come to Bible class at all get involved in this work. We pray that God will open hearts and minds to HIS work and love and grace.
NATHAN AND HIROMI
Our friends’ baby was born and lived a few precious hours. We believe God opened hearts and minds to His love through this couple and this child. This Saturday will be a celebration of the life of baby Joyce.
PLEASE PRAY FOR BETH as she adjusts back to life in the USA.
