Ladies-

Please join us for the annual fall retreat September 10th-11th at Pinecrest Retreat and Conference Center. Our speaker will be Lisa Clark from Kennett, MO, with “Lessons I Learned From My Mom” and “5 People You Will Meet in Heaven.” Cost is $35 and scholarships are available. This will be a refreshing and encouraging weekend. Please sign up on the front pew if you are able to attend.

Ladies’ Day – 2010

On April 17 fifty-one ladies came together for fellowship and study. Becky Kelly of Montgomery, Alabama, was the guest speaking. She spoke on “Affecting Change in Our Community.”

Ladies’ Day in the Spring and Ladies’ Retreat in the Fall are the two main events for the ladies of the Park Avenue congregation. These are always great times of fellowship and encouragement.

Ladies’ and Elders’ Brunch – Feb ’10

On February 13 (Saturday) from 10 a.m. to noon, the ladies of the congregation were invited to a brunch given by the elders. This was a time for the elders to share some information with the ladies, to affirm their importance to the church family at Park Avenue, and to gain information from them.

Gift Wrapping for Sea Isle School – Dec 1 ’09

Several ladies from the Park Avenue church as well as some from Sea Isle Elementary came together Tuesday evening, December 1, to wrap presents for the school Holiday Sale. Each year the school has a holiday store for the students so they can buy small, inexpensive gifts for their friends and family. This year we helped out by furnishing a place to meet and extra hands to wrap each gift. Thanks also to Nancy and others who brought refreshments. Several stayed for the entire time, 6 to 9 p.m., and others came and went as they had time. Many thanks for all who helped out.

Ladies’ Home Bible Study

We had our first bible study this past Saturday in my home. Though only a few attended, our time together was encouraging, uplifting, and rewarding. Our next class is scheduled for October 17th, from 10:30am-12:30. We will be studying “Peace” as our next topic. Please feel welcome to join us if you are so inclined.
