Final Judgement
Bible Text: Revelation 20:11-15 | Preacher: Frank Bolling | Series: Bible Basics
Final Judgement – June 24, 2017
Rev 20:11-15
“Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”
Have you ever been rebuked?
Frank had not understood that,
Revelation explains martyrs had been killed, bad things had happened to many, those people wanted justice for evils that befallen them.
There is going to be a judgement. We live in a world where everything has become relative.
For example: the professor says “There is going to be an exam at the end of the semester. “ but more than one student gets it wrong.
Same with us God tells us about the judgement however many will nott pass this exam even though they know what is going to be on the test.
Romans 3:1-2 “God is faithful to His children”
Daniel 7:9 – “Great day of the Lord”
Revelation 19:2 “Gods judgements are true and just”
Jeremiah 17:10 “according to his ways and the fruits of his deeds” 32:18
Galatians 6:7 “for whatever one sows he will reap”
Revelation 22 “repay each one for what he has done”
We are not judged by what we do, but by what we do not do.
2 Cor 5 If we claim to follow Jesus but we don’t love are we truly followers of Jesus.
Psalms 98:7 “He comes to judge the earth, He comes with equity.”
Matthew 7:21 “not everyone who cries Lord-Lord will enter the Kingdom of the Lord”
Sometimes Christians are accused of being judgmental, however, we have been told by the Savior that this is going to happen.
Are you ready to face that judgement?
Judgement day is not just a warning, “It is a welcome home”
