Ray Report May 15, ’08

Hi,

Tomobe junior high boys working
Tomobe junior high boys working during camp.

Spring is fully here. One day it is hot, the next it is cold. Today is cold. Last week we had camp and it was beautiful. So many mountain flowers are in bloom. The weather was great, not too hot and not too cold. Nice for a campfire at night. After camp was over, Marc and I stayed for another night to do some left over work. That night the two of us sat around the campfire and talked and listened to God speak to us. It was a wonderful time.

We were able to do a lot of work at camp this time because so many came. I think about 37 came. We also had some good Bible classes and fellowship time.

Jean has been down with the flu and asthma. She has had a fever and coughing a lot. I hope she will get over it soon as she is so tired from not sleeping well. Keep her in your prayers.
Tomobe church is preparing for arrival of our LST teams in June. There are so many things to do. We need to print over 20,000 fliers for the newspaper. There will be only two team members at a time, but Marc, Elissa, Jean and I will fill in some. We will put fliers in different newspapers this year to try to reach different people. We expect a good session again this year.
Some have asked about our son, so here is the news on Ken and Ai, his wife. They are living in West Covina, CA with their cats. He is working on cars and enjoying his work, but is very busy. Ai works for a motorcycle company.
He has a blog if you are into cars. http://blastracing.blogspot.com/ They want to come to Japan, but don’t know when.
We will be having another “prayer marathon,” from 5:00 AM on 5/30 to 5:00 AM on 5/31. Of course, we are happy to have you praying for us anytime, but it was a special encouragement to the members at Tomobe to know that, at a certain time, someone in America was praying for us. Let us know what time you plan to pray with us and we will send you a list of prayer requests. At the top of the list is always Kimiko Usami’s battle against cancer and that her family will someday come to believe in Jesus.
Marc and Elissa are planning a youth meeting at our house on May 24, so please pray for that and their baby due in September.
We do thank you your support and encouragement. You have been so faithful to us over the many years here in Japan.

Serving Him in Japan,
Marlin and Jean Ray
