Introducing Yasuo

You may suppose there are a lot of obstacles against Christianity in Japan.  No doubt there are, but they are usually settle and quiet.  But Yasuo’s case is different.  He is 15 years old and lives in my neighborhood.  He started coming to the assembly a year and half ago.  Since then his faith has grown and even has mentioned his desire for becoming a Christian.   He told his grandmother about it, but her answer has been always very negative.  She permits him to go to church, but to become Christian. She thinks it is a denial of her family religious tradition for him to become Christian.  Going to church is one thing.  Becoming Christian is another thing.  However, I have advised him not to resist her.  I said to him, “As you get older, you should be able to make up your mind without her consent.  I pray she will and am sure she will.”
