Yuji Is Out of Prison

Finally the time came when Yuji was actually out of the prison.  He was in the Miyagi Prison for a total of 16 years.  He has been released on parole.  He came to the assembly last Sunday.  We prayed for him and his job and strength and wisdom.  He works for a painting company that his brother in law owns.  That is a very good start.  His working schedule is not set like a regular job from Monday to Saturday.  He works as he is called by his boss.  We get together at least once a month sometimes twice a month.   We have agreed to read the Bible together.  He is very humble man.  He just had a bad man as father who his mother remarried.  The man was a member of a Japanese gang group, Yakuza.  He made Yuji a Yakuza.  He repented of his sins and desires to know God and Christ.   We continue to working with him.

Bible Knowledge and Spiritual Inventory

Some people in our church are relatively new Christians.  Others are from other churches.  Still a few of the attendants are not Christians yet but seeking God’s will by attending the service and reading the Bible.   I have decided to find out how much they have read the Bible and how often pray to God so that I can know which direction I should take in preaching and teaching a class.

  • Question #1 – Which book of the Bible have you read completely?  Put a X mark.
  • Question #2 – Which book of the Bible have you studied in a Bible class?  Put a circle. If you have read one and studied it, put both a X and a circle.
  • Question #3 – I try to read the Bible daily though I may fail occasionally.   Yes or No
  • Question #4 – I try to pray to God daily though I may fail occasionally.  Yes or No
  • Question #5 – I do not know how to pray to God.  Yes or No
Knowing each member’s answer helps me assess their biblical knowledge.  I pray that the Lord will lead them to the right direction as I work with them.

Lecture on Romans

Last Saturday (March 14, 2015) I finished my lecture on the Letter to Romans.  This has been hard work for me, but it is my pleasure to share some knowledge with people.  The audience seems to be encouraged whenever I speak.  One lady called me after I got home that night, saying “My husband and I were talking in our car on a way to home and felt the same about your lecture.  Both of us clearly understood what Paul meant concerning the theme of Romans, the righteous live by faith.  Thank you so much.  We are looking forward to listening to you more.  Please come and speak to us more.”   Such a compliment is more than I expected.  I pray only God is glorified.  I also pray God will shape our ministry and work in Christ.
