God delivers Hezekiah.
Surrounded by the Assyrian army, Hezekiah and all of Jerusalem wonder what will happen. God delivers them. Notice Isaiah 37:30. The deliverance is not immediate. It takes three years before the Assyrian army pulls back sufficiently for Jerusalem to resume normalcy. Hezekiah and the people had to learn patient obedience as the Assyrian army was in the region. We, too, have to learn patient obedience living in this world. There may be times when God acts immediately but God’s action are in his time rather than in our determination and desire. Patient obedience is not easy. Such demands faith and perseverance. It demands consistency of life. Let’s pray for patient obedience.
