Isaiah 44-48

God vs. idols.

Throughout this section, God encourages Judah to compare him to the idols that they worship. He creates; the idols must be created. He moves; the idols are stationary. He speaks; the idols remain silent. It isn’t merely that God is greater as if it is a close race at the finish line; it is, rather, that in comparison God has no equal. The things that we put our confidence in are temporary. They may be an idol but they could never be God. Let’s trust God not the created things.
