Ezekiel 13-15

The decisiveness of God.

Ezekiel has a vision that reveals the certainty of God’s decision to destroy Jerusalem.  God’s decision is final.  God says that even the presence of great men of faith will not stop his plan.  God mentions Noah, Daniel, and Job.  If these three men pleaded for God to change his mind, God would save them but still destroy the city.  God’s decision is final.  While we may find this vision harsh, it reveals to us something about God.  God is not wishy washy.  He isn’t indecisive.  God is not weak, feeble, spineless, or lacking in strength.  There are times when God is willing to change his mind while at the same time completing his plan.  But when God makes a promise, he is not wishy washy.  God will carry out his promise.  “Don’t let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God; trust also in me.  I go to prepare a place for you and if go I will come back for you.”  Although our culture may scoff and the events of our world may dishearten, God is decisive.  We belong to Him.  Live by faith and in faith.
