Daniel 1-3

Conviction.
Three chapters and three stories that highlight the conviction of faith.  Daniel and his three friends believe that God is sovereign.  They believe that God is able to do mighty things.  They live their lives with those realities in place. They are not sure how God will act, but they are sure that God can act to preserve life.  They also trust that if God’s action results in their death, then such an outcome does not alter their faith.  Whatever happens, we trust God.  Sometimes in the middle of suffering, those words can be difficult to express and believe.  Sometimes when the outcome is so different than what we wanted or expected, it would be easy to abandon that thought.  To live by faith is to trust that the outcome is God’s will.  To live by faith means we believe God is active and his actions are for our good.  To live by faith means we trust God and do not fear what this world can do to us.  Let’s live by faith.
