Profound discussions.
Jesus’ mother. A Jewish leader. A Samaritan woman. A government official. All have one thing in common. It wasn’t the length of the discussion that changed them. It was the intent of the discussion. Jesus cut to the heart of the matter. Mary told others to listen to Jesus. Nicodemus although secretive becomes a follower. The Samaritan woman brings others to meet Jesus. The government official demonstrates great faith based on the word of Jesus. Four distinct individuals but all know that Jesus is real. There is no pretense in Jesus. He engages in the serious matters of life and they all listen to him. In our attempts to introduce others to Jesus, we may try to be kind and indirect. As a result people may not see that Jesus can speak to the serious matters of life. We want others to know the Jesus that we love. We want others to know that Jesus is the answer for the heart. While we speak kindly, we also speak directly. After all the message is about our Savior and Master. Jesus speaks to the heart.
