Money.
Money is important in our world. Businesses must make profits in order to survive. When Paul preached about Jesus and convinced people that Artemis was an idol of no value, businesses associated with that false god started to lose money. It is no wonder that Paul was quickly opposed. Money is important. Sometimes we can get confused about what we truly value. Paul knew that God was greater than a livelihood especially one that was based on a lie. We value our relationship with God over anything else. Sometimes our family and our friends may not understand that. They may not understand why we refuse a promotion or a bigger house or a newer car when all those things are available to us. While it isn’t wrong to have any of these things, we have to make sure that we do not let money distract us from what is really important.
