The cross.
The cross appears foolish to many. Some wonder how a man who was executed could be a Savior. Others want to see power rather than defeat. Yet, God uses the cross as an instrument of his wisdom. It was through the cross that God brought all people to him. It was through the cross that forgiveness was possible. It was in defeat that God gained the victory. It was in death that life came. The world’s wisdom says that we win through strength and power. God’s wisdom says we win through weakness. We each must decide what the cross means. Once we decide, then we will live our lives based on what we believe about the cross. If the cross is victory then we choose to be less so that Jesus can be more. If the cross is foolish then we will pursue power. We have to decide based on the cross.
